Application
Protease Inhibitor Cocktail Set III, EDTA-Free has been used:
- as a component in CelLytic MT cell lysis reagent or lysis buffer to homogenize kidney organoids for immunoblot analysis
- as a component in homogenization buffer to homogenize minced mouse quadriceps femoris muscle tissue
- in lysis buffer to extract proteins for immunoblotting
Biochem/physiol Actions
Inhibits a broad spectrum of serine proteases, cysteine proteases, and aspartic proteases, as well as aminopeptidases.
Protease inhibitor cocktails and specialized protease inhibitors play a crucial role in various proteomic studies conducted by scientists. These studies encompass protein expression and characterization, biomarker discovery, identification of post-translational modifications, protein expression profiling, and quantitative protein measurement. General description
Note: available as 1 x 1 ml or as a set of 5 x 1 ml.
This protease inhibitor cocktail set is a specially formulated cocktail of six protease inhibitors with broad specificity for the inhibition of aspartic, cysteine, and serine proteases as well as aminopeptidases. This cocktail is recommended for use with mammalian cells and tissue extracts, but is also suitable for bacterial extracts. It is provided as a single vial or as a set of 5 vials. Each vial contains 1 ml protease inhibitor cocktail solubilized in DMSO with a small amount of water.
Preparation Note
Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-20°C).
