      UniProt Number
UniProt SummaryFUNCTION: SwissProt: P61812 # TGF-beta 2 has suppressive effects on interleukin-2 dependent T-cell growth.
SIZE: 414 amino acids; 47748 Da
      SUBUNIT: Homodimer; disulfide-linked.
      SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted.
DISEASE: SwissProt: P61812 # A chromosomal aberration involving TGFB2 is found in a family with Peters anomaly [MIM:604229]. Translocation t(1;7)(q41;p21) with HDAC9. Peters anomaly consists of a central corneal leukoma, absence of the posterior corneal stroma and Descemet membrane, and a variable degree of iris and lenticular attachments to the central aspect of the posterior cornea.
SIMILARITY: SwissProt: P61812 ## Belongs to the TGF-beta family.

      Storage and Shipping Information
Storage ConditionsThe lyophilized powder is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with water to a concentration of 50 μg/ml (e.g., 5 μg/100 μl), this will yield a solution of 1 mM citrate buffer pH 3.5 This solution can then be stored at room temperature or at 2-8ºC for 1 month. It is recommended that further dilutions be made into PBS containing 2 mg/ml albumin and stored at -20ºC. Reconstituted human TGF-beta2 should be stored in undiluted aliquots at -20°C for at least 2 months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
