      OverviewContains more than 98% kanamycin A. An aminoglycoside antibiotic effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. Inhibitor of protein biosynthesis that acts on the 30S ribosome, causing misreading of the genetic code. May cause renal damage and ototoxicity.
