Revision27-June-2007 RFH
ApplicationImmunofluorescence (1:100)
Immunohistochemistry (1:100)
DescriptionStrepavidin conjugated to fluorescein. Specific for biotin and biotinylated proteins or antibodies.
BackgroundStreptavidin is a ~60 kDa tetrameric biotin-binding protein with four high-affinity binding sites (dissociation constant of 10-15 M). conjugated streptavidin can be used to enhance the sensitivities of immunoassays, DNA probes, and immunohistochemical techniques. Streptavidin contains no carbohydrates and has an isoelectric point near neutral (pI = 5.5-6.5), offering reduced non-specific binding when compared to avidin isolated from chicken egg white.
