SynonymsrmIL-3
DescriptionRecombinant, mouse interleukin-3 expressed in E. coli. IL-3 is a hemopoietic colony stimulating factor that interacts with very early multipotent hematopoietic progenitor cells. Stimulates production and differentiation of macrophages, neutrophils, basophils, mast cells, and eosinophils. IL-3 supports colony formation in the soft agar of bone marrow cells of granulocyte, macrophage, megakaryocyte, and erythrocyte lineages. Unlike human IL-3, the murine form supports the growth of mast cells. IL-3 activity is highly species-specific. Murine IL-3 does not show activity on human cells. Recombinant IL-3 produced in and purified from E. coli.
