Alternate Names
  • Pseudopodium-enriched atypical kinase 1
  • Sugen kinase 269
  • Tyrosine-protein kinase SgK269
Background InformationPseudopodium-enriched atypical kinase 1 (Peak1; KIAA2002, or sgk269) is a ubiquitous non-receptor tyrosine kinase that belongs to the NFK3 family. It interacts with actin filaments via its N-terminal actin-targeting region. It also modulates the activity of multiple cytoskeletal regulatory proteins such as paxillin, p130Cas, Erk, and Crk; and mediates cell proliferation and migration via the Ras/Raf/Erk and Src-p130Cas-Crk-Paxillin pathways. Peak1 may play an important role in the progression of tumors.
