DescriptionAnti-FAT10 Antibody, clone 4F1
Alternate Names
  • Ubiquitin D
  • Diubiquitin
  • Ubiquitin-like protein FAT10
Background InformationFAT10 protein is a recombinant protein produced in E. coli corresponding to the human sequence encompassing an N-terminal His6-tag within a leader sequence. FAT10, a ubiquitin-like protein, is encoded in the major histocompatibility complex class I locus and is synergistically inducible with interferon-gamma and tumor necrosis factor alpha. FAT10 expression causes apoptosis and it appears that FAT10 may modulate tumorigenesis through its interaction with the MAD2 spindle-assembly checkpoint protein. It has been demonstrated that FAT10 and its conjugates are rapidly degraded by the proteasome. Furthermore, a new interaction partner of FAT10, NEDD8 ultimate buster-1L (NUB1L), may function as a linker that targets FAT10 for degradation by the proteasome.
