Specialized filter units protect hemodialysis transducers from blood and moisture. 50 mm Millex filter units are also used for vacuum line protection. All units are bi-directional.

| How many times can the Millex FG50 be autoclaved? | It can be autoclaved up to 10 times. |
| Are Millex devices endotoxin-free? | Millex devices are measured for endotoxin as per current USP. A specification of <2 EU/device is used for clinical applications and a specification of <20 EU/device is used for products used in research laboratories. Prior to the current revision of the USP, the specification for endotoxin was reported in EU/ml of wash. The current USP revised this specification to be more stringent with results reported as EU/device. |
| Are the Millex units autoclavable? | The only Millex unit sold by Millipore that is autoclavable is the FG50. All others have a maximum temperature rating of 45C. For short term exposure, slightly higher temperatures may be used. |
