DescriptionMilli-Mark™ Anti-CD14 -FITC Antibody, clone TUK4
Alternate Names
  • Monocyte differentiation antigen CD14
  • Myeloid cell-specific leucine-rich glycoprotein
Background InformationCD14 is composed of 356 amino acids and is anchored to the cell membrane by linkage to glycosyl phosphatidylinositol. In addition to the 53-55 kDa cell surface form, two soluble forms have been described (Goyert, 2002). CD14 is expressed strongly on the surface of monocytes and weakly on the surface of granulocytes (Goyert, 2002). Most tissue macrophages and Langerhans cells also express CD14 (Goyert, 1999 and 2002; Gadd, 1989). Anti-CD14, TUK4, was included in the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth International Workshop and Conference on Human Leucocyte Differentiation Antigens and studies by a number of laboratories confirmed its reactivity with CD14 (Goyert 1995 and 1996).
