SpecificityMonoclonal antibody MAB2076Z, raised by immunizing beta6 knockout mice with recombinant secreted human alphavbeta6, is useful for flow cytometry and immunoprecipitation in all species tested, including mouse. It also works well for immunohistochemistry of acetone-fixed tissues in several species, including rat, rabbit, monkey, and human. The antibody does not work well for immunohistochemistry of mouse tissue. This antibody does not recognize the aV subunit and does not react with alphaV integrins other than alphavbeta6. Because the antibody is not effective in western blot, it is unknown whether the epitope recognized by the antibody localizes to the alphavbeta6 heterodimer or to the beta6 subunit only.
