  • FMLP1/2
  • fMet-Leu-Phe receptor
  • fMLP receptor
  • N-formyl peptide receptor
  • FPR
  • N-formylpeptide chemoattractant receptor
Background InformationN-formy peptide receptor 1 (also known as N-formylpeptide chemoattractant receptor or fMet-Leu-Phe receptor) & 2 (also known as RFP, FMLP-R-I, Lipoxin A4 receptor, LXA4 receptor, FMLP-related receptor I, Formyl peptide receptor-like 1) are multi-pass cell membrane G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) encoded by the FPR1 (also known as FPR and FMLP) and FPR2 (also known as FPR2 and FMLP-R-II) gene in human, respectively. The FPR1 gene encodes the high-affinity, and FPR2 the low-affinity, receptor for N-formyl-methionyl peptides (FMLP). Both receptors mediate FMLP-induced activation of neutrophils.
