DescriptionAnti-NET5 Antibody
Alternate Names
  • transmembrane protein 201
  • Spindle-associated membrane protein 1
Background InformationTransmembrane protein 201, also known as NET5, is a transmembrane protein of the nuclear envelope that is homologous to spindle-associated membrane protein 1 (SAMP1) in humans. NET5 is thought to be expressed on the inner nuclear membrane during interphase and move to the polar regions of the mitotic spindle during mitosis.

Applications
ApplicationUse Anti-NET5 Antibody (Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody) validated in WB, ICC to detect NET5 also known as transmembrane protein 201.
Key Applications
  • Western Blotting
  • Immunocytochemistry
Application NotesWestern Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL from a representative lot detected NET5 on 10 µg of rat heart tissue lysate.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A representative lot was used by an independent laboratory that detected NET5 in U2OS cells expressing various NET-GFP fusions. (Wilkie, G., et al. (2011) Mol. Cell Proteomics).
Biological Information
ImmunogenKLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human NET5.
ConcentrationPlease refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.

UniProt SummaryFUNCTION: Isoform SAMP1 may define a distinct membrane domain in the vicinity of the mitotic spindle. Ref.3

SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Isoform SAMP1: Nucleus inner membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Note: The C-terminal of isoform SAMP1 is located on the nucleoplasmic side. During interphase, isoform SAMP1 is distributed in the inner nuclear membrane and during mitosis, it is found in the ER but it also localizes to the polar regions of the mitotic spindle. Ref.3
Molecular Weight~72 and/or 43 kDa observed depending on lysate used. Isoform1: 72 kDa and Isoform 2: 43 kDa. Uncharacterized band at ~28 kDa may be observed in some lysates.
