      Description
OverviewA lipophilic, water-soluble styrylpyridinium red fluoroprobe that is useful for staining active recycling synaptic vesicles. Also useful in studying endocytosis and identifying cell membrane boundaries. The compound is non-fluorescent in aqueous solution but becomes fluorescent when incorporated into the plasma membrane. Reversible, photostable, and does not diffuse out of internalized vesicles. Can also be used in combination with other green fluoroprobes for double-labeling experiments.
