      DescriptionAnti-Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase Antibody, clone 10.1
      Alternate Names
      • Indoleamine-pyrrole 2,3-dioxygenase
Background InformationIndoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) is an enzyme that is responsible for converting tryptophan to kynurenines. IDO is expressed by a wide variety of tissues and IDO can be upregulated by interferon gamma. IDO modulates levels of the amino acid tryptophan, which is vital for cell growth, but is also involved in the suppression of the immune response. IDO may be involved in the suppression of the immune response to tumours and blocking the IDO pathway may be a potential target for immunotherapy.

      Applications
ApplicationAnti-Indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase Antibody, clone 10.1 is an antibody against Indoleamine 2 for use in IH & WB.
      Key Applications
      • Immunohistochemistry
      • Western Blotting
      Application NotesImmunohistochemistry:
A previous lot of this antibody worked on lightly fixed tissues; Triton X-100 treatment only in the block, not with primary antibody. High temperature antigen retrieval is recommended.

      Western blot:
Recognizes a 42-45kDa band in IFN-gamma treated human HeLa cell lines. Mouse IDO runs slightly smaller in blots than human IDO.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.
      Biological Information
ImmunogenAmino acids 78-184 of human IDO fused to GST.
      Clone10.1
ConcentrationPlease refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
      HostMouse
SpecificityReacts with Indolamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO). Note IDO is usually expressed in response to various stimuli. A good positive control is HeLa cells stimulated with IFN-gamma, {http://www.upstate.com/browse/productdetail.q.ProductID.e.05-840#}.

      Entrez Gene Number
Entrez Gene SummaryGamma-interferon (IFNG; MIM 147570) has an antiproliferative effect on many tumor cells and inhibits intracellular pathogens such as Toxoplasma and Chlamydia, at least partly because of the induction of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (INDO; EC 1.13.11.42). This enzyme catalyzes the degradation of the essential amino acid L-tryptophan to N-formylkynurenine.[supplied by OMIM]
