SynonymsrhIGF-II
DescriptionRecombinant, human insulin-like growth factor-II expressed in E. coli. A growth-promoting peptide that is structurally related to insulin. IGF-II shares about 76% sequence identity with IGF-I and ~50% with pro-insulin. Its actions are similar to IGF-I (Cat. No. 407240). IGF-II is a nonglycosylated, single chain peptide of 67 amino acids. Plays an important role in fetal development. Stimulates muscle and bone cell proliferation and differentiation.
