DescriptionImmunoaffinity purified rabbit polyclonal anitbody. Recognizes the ~57 kDa visual arrestin protein.
BackgroundMany G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are involved in the signaling of cell growth through activation of G proteins. G protein-coupled receptor kinases and arrestins (visual arrestin, β-arrestin1, β-arrestin2, and cone arrestin) function in terminating receptor signaling by mediating the desensitization and internalization of GPCRs. Visual and cone arrestins interact directly with transducin. β-arrestins are ubiquitously expressed and interact with acetylcholine and adrenergic receptors.
