Native 7S nerve growth factor from mouse submaxillary glands. Promotes neuron survival and neurite outgrowth in newborn rat brain. Composed of three subunits: (α: β: γ): 2:1:2. The α-subunit is an inactive serine proteinase and the γ-subunit is an active serine proteinase capable of processing the precursor form of β-NGF.
