DescriptionRecombinant, human macrophage colony-stimulating factor expressed in E. coli. Stimulates formation of macrophage colonies from bone marrow hematopoietic progenitor cells. Induces cell death in HIV-1 infected monocytes. Human M-CSF is active in murine systems and the recombinant cytokine is indistinguishable from the natural M-CSF in all biological assays tested.
