Applications
Key Applications Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay
Free-floating Sections
Immunoblotting (Western Blotting)
Application NotesELISA (1:5:000-1:10,000)
Free Floating Sections (1:1000-1:5000)
Immunoblotting (1:1000-1:2000)
Application CommentsThis antibody is useful for the detection of malondialdehyde-modified proteins by ELISA. The optimal working dilution must be determined for individual samples. Does not cross-react with 4-hydroxy-nonenal-BSA, acroleine-BSA, formaldehyde-BSA or azelaic acid-BSA. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the optimal working dilution.

DescriptionRabbit polyclonal antibody preadsored against protein carriers and purified. Recognizes malondialdehyde-modified proteins.
BackgroundMDA (Malondialdehyde) is a highly reactive three carbon dialdehyde produced as a byproduct of polyunsaturated fatty acid peroxidation and arachidonic acid metabolism. MDA readily combines with several functional groups on molecules including proteins, lipoproteins, and DNA. MDA-modified proteins may show altered physico-chemical behavior and antigenicity. MDA is considered to be one of the most important markers for monitoring lipid peroxidation, which is associated with serious adult diseases and premature neonates.
