Applications
Key Applications Immunoblotting (Western Blotting)
Paraffin Sections
Application NotesImmunoblotting (1 µg/ml)
Paraffin Sections (10 µg/ml, heat pre-treatment required)
Application CommentsFor paraffin sections the antibody may give a weak immunoreactive staining pattern; high-pressure heat-induced antigen retrieval method is recommended using high/low pH citrate buffer. Antibody should be titrated for optimal results in individual systems.

Revision05-September-2007 RFH
ApplicationImmunoblotting (1 µg/ml)
Paraffin Sections (10 µg/ml, heat pre-treatment required)
DescriptionPurified mouse monoclonal antibody generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with the specified immunogen and fusing splenocytes with SP2/0 mouse myeloma cells. Recognizes the ~87 kDa MLH1 protein.
BackgroundThe MLH1 gene is one of at least 4 genes encoding proteins involved in the repair of mismatch nucleotides following DNA replication or repair. Mutations in the MLH1 gene contribute to the development of sporadic colorectal carcinoma, while germline MLH1 mutations are responsible for ~35% of inherited, non-polyposis colorectal carcinoma (HNPCC). MLH1 encodes a protein of 756 amino acids.
