Description
Catalogue NumberABT259
DescriptionAnti-Fibrinogen gamma chain Antibody
Alternate Names
  • Fibrinogen gamma chain
Background InformationThe gamma component of fibrinogen is a glycoprotein comprised of three pairs of nonidentical polypeptide chains. Following vascular injury, fibrinogen is cleaved by thrombin to form fibrin which is the most abundant component of blood clots. Various cleavage fragments of fibrinogen and fibrin also regulate cell adhesion, vasoconstricting, chemotaxis, and mitosis. Disorders caused by gamma chain mutations include dysfibrinogenemia, hypofibrinogenemia and thrombophilia. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants, the common gammaA and the less abundant gamma'.
