Description
OverviewA cell-permeable trifluoromethyl ketone analog of arachidonic acid. Potent and selective slow-binding inhibitor of cytosolic (85 kDa) phospholipase A2 (cPLA2; IC50 = ~20 µM). Specific inhibition of cPLA2 activity by AACOCF3 partially inhibits TNF-induced apoptosis without inhibition of caspase activity. Causes a significant diminution in thromboxane B2 production in thrombin-stimulated platelets. Also inhibits platelet aggregation in response to collagen and arachidonic acid.
