Serotonin Antibodies

Millipore’s Serotonin antibodies demonstrate specificity against Serotonin. See below for Millipore’s Serotonin antibodies. All Millipore antibodies are based on the expertise of Upstate & Chemicon.

Serotonin or 5-Hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) is a monoamine neurotransmitter. Serotonin is predominantly located in the gastrointestinal tract, platelets, and the CNS. Serotonin contributes to feelings of well-being and is also known as the happiness hormone. 80 percent of the total serotonin is located in the enterochromaffin cells of the digestive tract, where it regulates intestinal movements. The remainder is synthesized by neurons in the CNS. Serotonin regulates mood, appetite, sleep, as well as muscle contraction. Serotonin also has some cognitive functions, including in memory and learning.
