      Revision06-March-2008 JSW
      SynonymsAlkylphosphine Oxide Detergent Set
DescriptionAlkyl Phosphine Oxides are a family of novel non-ionic detergents with a wide range of potential uses. They differ by the number of methyl groups in the side chain but share a number of convenient characteristics. These detergents are all pure, crystalline solids that are stable and non-hydrolyzable. They are water soluble, have low CMC values and are U.V. transparent and NMR (31P) detectable. APO-10 has been used for purification of high quality DNA without the need for resins or phenol/chloroform and APO-12 has been used in two-phase separation or purification of proteins. However, APO-8, -9, and -11 have not yet been fully characterized.

      Contains 1 g of each of the following non-ionic detergents: APO-8, APO-9, APO-10 (Cat. No. 178375), APO-11, and APO-12 (Cat. No. 178377), CMC values: APO-8 = 40 mM; APO-9 = 10 mM; APO-10 = 4.6 mM, APO-11 = 1.2 mM; and APO-12 = 568 µM.
