Our broad portfolio consists of multiplex panels that allow you to choose, within the panel, analytes that best meet your needs. On a separate tab you can choose the premixed cytokine format or a single plex kit.
Cell Signaling Kits & MAPmates™
Choose fixed kits that allow you to explore entire pathways or processes. Or design your own kits by choosing single plex MAPmates™, following the provided guidelines.
The following MAPmates™ should not be plexed together:
-MAPmates™ that require a different assay buffer
-Phospho-specific and total MAPmate™ pairs, e.g. total GSK3β and GSK3β (Ser 9)
-PanTyr and site-specific MAPmates™, e.g. Phospho-EGF Receptor and phospho-STAT1 (Tyr701)
-More than 1 phospho-MAPmate™ for a single target (Akt, STAT3)
-GAPDH and β-Tubulin cannot be plexed with kits or MAPmates™ containing panTyr

MILLIPLEX MAP Human Diabetes Panel, Premixed 5 Plex Assay
Overview
EMD Millipore’s MILLIPLEX® MAP Human Diabetes Premixed Magnetic Bead Panel is a 5-plex kit to be used for the simultaneous quantification of the following analytes in serum, plasma or culture supernatant samples: C-Peptide, GLP-1 (Active), Glucagon, Insulin, Leptin.
MILLIPLEX® MAP offers the broadest selection of analytes across a wide range of disease states and species. Once the analytes of interest have been identified, you can rely on the quality that we build into each kit to produce results you can trust. In addition to the assay characteristics listed in the protocol, other performance criteria evaluated during the validation process include: cross-reactivity, dilution linearity, kit stability, and sample behavior (e.g. detectability and stability). Each panel and kit meets stringent manufacturing criteria to ensure batch-to-batch reproducibility.
Each MILLIPLEX® MAP panel and kit includes:
• Quality controls (QCs) provided to qualify assay performance
• Comparison of standard (calibrator) and QC lots to a reference lot to ensure lot-to-lot consistency
• Optimized serum matrix to mimic native analyte environment
• Detection antibody cocktails designed to yield consistent analyte profiles within panel
MILLIPLEX® MAP offers you: o The ability to choose any combination of analytes from our panel of seven analytes to design a custom kit that better meets your needs. o A convenient “all-in-one” box format that gives you the assurance that you will have all the necessary reagents you need to run your assay.
EMD Millipore’s MILLIPLEX® MAP Human Diabetes Premixed Magnetic Bead Panel is part of the most versatile system available for metabolic hormone research. From our single to multiplex biomarker solutions, we partner with you to design, develop, analytically validate and build the most comprehensive library available for protein detection and quantitation.
Background Information
Type I Diabetes is an autoimmune disease (or a viral attack) that destroys pancreatic β-cells leaving the subject unable to produce insulin (usually early onset). Type II Diabetes is a metabolic disorder caused by obesity and a sedentary lifestyle (usually later onset). If the body is unable to produce sufficient levels of insulin, then Glucose levels will rise and in time, can cause heart disease, stroke, kidney failure and dementia, to name a few. The five analytes included in this kit are: insulin, glucagon, leptin, glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1 active), and C-Peptide (connecting peptide).
The MILLIPLEX® MAP Human Diabetes Premixed Magnetic Bead Panel enables you to focus on the relevance and therapeutic potential of insulin, glucagon, leptin, GLP-1 (Active), and C-Peptide in your research model. Coupled with the Luminex xMAP® platform in a magnetic bead format, you receive the advantage of ideal speed and sensitivity, allowing quantitative multiplex detection of multiple analytes simultaneously, which can dramatically improve productivity.
The Human Diabetes, Premixed 5 Plex Panel, using the Luminex xMAP technology, enables the simultaneous analysis of 5 protein biomarkers in human serum, plasma and cell culture samples.
Key Applications
Multiplexing
Application Notes
• This kit is a 5-plex, premixed bead kit. • Two of the analytes require addition of DPPIV inhibitor (for GLP-1 active) and Aprotinin (for Glucagon) to the serum or plasma samples. Refer to the sample collection and storage section in the protocol for details. • The protocol recommends serum or plasma samples be run neat. Tissue/cell culture samples may require a dilution with an appropriate control medium prior to assay. • For optimal sensitivity use an overnight (16 - 18 hour) incubation. • Each well requires 25 uL of sample, standard or control.
