Revision12-September-2008 RFH
Descriptionv-Src tyrosine kinase was the first oncogenic gene discovered. v-Src's homologue c-Src, the normal cellular gene, was then identified as the proto-oncogene found in all cells. It was found that mutations of this gene could trigger uncontrolled cell growth or cancer. A single mutation in the tail of this protein can keep the protein in its active state at all times, and mutations in the SH3 domain have also been found to contribute to Src's oncogenic activity. With this discovery, researchers started studying the structure and function of Src to determine how the protein was regulated.

Calbiochem® brand provides a convenient set of 4 Src Inhibitors for your research needs.
