Description
Overview7-Aminoactinomycin D, like its parent molecule, actinomycin D, is a DNA intercalator and has antibacterial properties. Exhibits growth-inhibitory activity against certain leukemias and sarcomas. Fluorescent excitation and emission maxima are 500 and 672 nm, respectively. Complexes with DNA and absorbs at 555 nm and emits at 655 nm. Useful in distinguishing early apoptotic cells, which have lost membrane integrity, from apoptotic and live cells. Has been used in DNA analysis and as a probe for chromosome structure and function.

Description7-Aminoactinomycin D is a membrane impermeable fluorescent DNA intercalator. Like its parent compound, Actinomycin D (Cat. No. 114666), 7-AAD has antibacterial properties and growth inhibitory activity against certain leukemias and sarcomas. Useful for flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy. Used for staining nonviable cells and for identifying apoptotic cells. Compatible with FITC and PE cell surface staining. The absorption/emission maxima are as follows: unbound (ex. 500 nm, em. 672 nm) and DNA bound (ex. 555 nm, em. 655 nm). λmax 528 nm ± 2; εmax = 22,700 ± 5,000 M-1 cm-1
