Description
Catalogue NumberABC110
DescriptionAnti-ELMO1 Antibody
Alternate Names
  • Engulfment and cell motility protein 1
  • Protein ced-12 homolog
Background InformationEngulfment and cell motility protein 1 (ELMO1) is a cytoplasmic protein involved in the clearance of apoptotic cells by phagocytosis. ELMO1 is activated downstream of the phosphatidylserine receptor BAI1. ELMO1 binds to DOCK180 and facilitates its transport to the plasma membrane where DOCK180 activates the GTPase RAC1, possibly via Arf6. RAC1, like other small GTPases, mediate cytoskeleton remodeling and cell motility which is necessary for the internalization of target cells.
