Overview

Replacement Information
Description
OverviewRecombinant, bovine NIPP-1 fused to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in E. coli. Potent and specific inhibitor of protein phosphatase 1 (PP1; Ki = 1-10 pM) that can be used to distinguish PP1 from other major serine/threonine protein phosphatases including PP2A, PP2B, and PP2C. Also an ideal substrate for protein kinase A and casein kinase II. Thought to be involved in the targeting of PP1 to RNA-associated substrates and may also be involved in the dephosphorylation of transcription factors like CREB and the tumor suppressor Rb.
