Description
OverviewRecombinant, human hepatocyte growth factor expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells. Pleiotropic growth factor that has also been called scatter factor, hepatopoietin A, and mammary growth factor. Through binding to its high affinity met receptor, HGF has marked and varied effects on hepatocytes and other epithelial and endothelial cell types. HGF-induced proliferation of primary hepatocytes is mediated by activation of PI 3-kinase. Acts as a potent mitogen for mature hepatocytes.
