DescriptionAnti-CDT2 Antibody
Alternate Names
  • Denticleless protein homolog
  • B1- and CUL4-associated factor 2
  • Lethal(2) denticleless protein homolog
  • Retinoic acid-regulated nuclear matrix-associated protein
Background InformationCDT2, also known as DTL, Denticleless protein homolog, DDB1- and CUL4-associated factor 2, Lethal(2) denticleless protein homolog, or Retinoic acid-regulated nuclear matrix-associated protein, and encoded by the gene DTL/CDT2/CDW1/DCAF2/L2DTL/RAMP, is a component of the DCX(DTL) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex and is the substrate-specific adapter for the DCX (DDB1-CUL4-X-box) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex required for cell cycle control, DNA damage response and translesion DNA synthesis. The DCX(DTL) complex, also named CRL4(CDT2) complex, mediates the polyubiquitination and subsequent degradation of CDT1 and CDKN1A/p21(CIP1). CDT2 is important because degradation of CDT1 in response to DNA damage is necessary to ensure proper cell cycle regulation of DNA replication. CDT2 is localized to the nucleus primarily but it translocates to the cytoplasm during mitosis. CDT2 is expressed in multiple tissues at varying degrees with high expression in adult placenta, testis, thymus, bone marrow and fetal all fetal tissues, and low expression in adult muscle, spleen and lymph node.
