Description
OverviewHexose analog that can be incorporated into rat gangliosides GM2 and GD3 in positions normally occupied by galactose. 2-Deoxy-D-galactose has been suggested to act as an inhibitor of fucosylation. It has also been used for competitive elution of Anadarin P lectin (a galactosyl-binding lectin from blood clam).
