Alternate Names
  • interleukin 13 receptor, alpha 2
  • interleukin-13 receptor subunit alpha-2
  • interleukin 13 receptor alpha 2 chain
  • Interleukin-13-binding protein
  • IL-13R subunit alpha-2
  • cancer/testis antigen 19
  • IL-13 receptor subunit alpha-2
  • interleukin 13 binding protein
  • IL-13R-alpha-2
  • CD213a2 antigen
Background InformationInterleukin-13 receptor subunit alpha-2 (IL-13RA2) is one receptor of Interleukin-13 which is a key moderator of asthma and allergic inflammation. IL-13 and its receptors have been shown to play a part in alcohol-mediated activation of pro-fibrotic pathways. IL-13 has a suppressive effect on macrophage activation but cannot activate T cells.

Applications
ApplicationAnti-IL-13 receptor Antibody, alpha-2 (IL-13RA2) is an antibody against IL-13 receptor for use in WB, IH(P).
Key Applications
  • Western Blotting
  • Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin)
Application NotesWestern Blot (SNAP i.d.® Protein Detection System) Analysis: 5 µg/mL from a previous lot detected Interleukin-13 receptor, alpha-2 in 10 µg of HeLa cell lysate.

Immunohistochemistry (paraffin) Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a previous lot was used to detect Interleukin-13 receptor, alpha-2 in colorectal carcinoma and normal human kidney/medulla tissue sections.
Biological Information
ImmunogenKLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Interleukin-13 receptor, alpha-2 at the cytoplasmic domain.
EpitopeCytoplasmic Domain
ConcentrationPlease refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
HostRabbit
SpecificityThis antibody recognizes Interleukin-13 receptor, alpha-2 at the cytoplasmic domain.
Species Reactivity
  • Human
Antibody TypePolyclonal Antibody
Entrez Gene Number
Entrez Gene SummaryThe protein encoded by this gene is closely related to Il13RA1, a subuint of the interleukin 13 receptor complex. This protein binds IL13 with high affinity, but lacks cytoplasmic domain, and does not appear to function as a signal mediator. It is reported to play a role in the internalization of IL13. [provided by RefSeq].

  • IL13RA2
  • CD213a2
  • IL-13R
  • CT19
  • IL13BP
  • CD213A2
  • IL-13RA2
  • IL13R
Purification MethodAffinity Purfied
UniProt Number
UniProt SummaryFUNCTION: Binds as a monomer with high affinity to interleukin-13 (IL13), but not to interleukin-4 (IL4).

SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.

DOMAIN: The WSXWS motif appears to be necessary for proper protein folding and thereby efficient intracellular transport and cell-surface receptor binding.

The box 1 motif is required for JAK interaction and/or activation.

SEQUENCE SIMILARITIES: Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 5 subfamily.

Contains 1 fibronectin type-III domain.
Molecular Weight~44 kDa observed
