Highly Resistant and pH Independent

Merck’s strongly acidic cation exchanger resins are highly resistant to acids, bases and organic solvents, as well as reducing and oxidizing agents. The ion exchange capacity of these resins is completely independent of the pH value of the solution to be exchanged. This allows the resins to be used across the entire range from pH 0 to14 – without any limitations. In the reaction, the neutral salt is split into the respective acid, whereas the ion exchangers are transferred into salt form. The SO3H functional groups of our strongly acidic cation exchangers exhibit an ionization degree corresponding to that of a strong mineral acid.

Features and Benefits

  • Highly resistant to: acids; bases; organic solvents; reducing and oxidizing agents
  • Effective from pH 0 to 14
