DescriptionAnti-phospho-Acinus (Ser422) Antibody
Alternate Names
  • apoptotic chromatin condensation inducer 1
  • apoptotic chromatin condensation inducer in the nucleus
  • functional spliceosome-associated protein 152
Background InformationAcinus (Apoptotic Chromatin condensation Inducer in the Nucleus) is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear factor essential for apoptotic chromatin condensation. The ~220 kDa acinus protein is cleaved by caspase-3 and an additional unidentified protease. This protelytic cleavage releases a 17 kDa fragment to induce chromatin condensation. Acinus is expressed in three isoforms, AcinusL, AcinusS, and AcinusS' with the two shorter isoforms corresponding to the C-terminal region of the longer form.
