      A cell-permeable Antennapedia-BH3 (Bcl-2 homology 3 domain from Bak) fusion peptide that binds to Bcl-xL and antagonizes its anti-apoptotic function. Reported to induce apoptosis in HeLa cells (~50 µM). Cell death is reported to occur via a cytochrome c-independent activation of caspases.

      DescriptionA cell-permeable peptide consisting of the Bcl-2 homology 3 (BH3) domain from Bak and the internalization sequence from the Antennapedia (Ant). Selectively binds to Bcl-xL and antagonizes its anti-apoptotic function. Reported to induce apoptosis (~50 µM) in HeLa cells. May function through the formation of inactive dimers with death suppressors. Induction of apoptosis with Ant-BH3 is reported to occur in about 2-3 h via cytochrome c-independent induction of caspases.
