      OverviewNative protein C from human plasma. Sold as a zymogen. Markedly prolongs kaolin-cephalin clotting time of normal plasma. Activated by α-thrombin to serine protease-activated protein C. In its active form, it is a potent anticoagulant that acts through selective inactivation of Factors Va and VIIIa.
