      Description
      OverviewAn internally quenched fluorogenic peptide substrate (Mca/Anb as fluorophore/quencher) that is preferentially cleaved by cathepsin G between Gnf and Ser with high efficiency and selectivity (kcat = 0.524 s-1; KM = 2.08 µM; kcat/KM = 252,000 M-1s-1) as well as sensitivity (≤70 pM Cath G; [subsrate] = 3.3 µM). Human neutrophil elastase and proteinase 3 are found to cleave the peptide between Val and Thr with a much slower kinetics (no detectable cleavage in 1 h) and lower efficiency (10% and 23% cleavage, respectively, after 24 h). Excitation max: 325 nm; emission max: 400 nm.
      Mca = 7-Methoxycoumarin-4-yl acetyl; Gnf = 4-Guanidine-L-phenylalanine; Anb = Amino nitrobenzoic acid.
