      Revision27-June-2007 RFH
      ApplicationEnzyme Immunoassay (1:10,000)
DescriptionStreptavidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase. Specific for biotin, biotinylated proteins, or biotinylated antibodies.
BackgroundStreptavidin is a tetrameric biotin-binding protein with four high affinity binding sites. It may be used to enhance the sensitivities of immunoassays, DNA probes, and immunocytochemical techniques. Streptavidin contains no carbohydrates and has an isoelectric point near neutral (pI = 5.5-6.5), offering reduced nonspecific binding when compared with avidin isolated from egg white.
