      Overview

      Replacement Information
      Description
OverviewRecombinant, human GSK-3β fused at the N-terminus to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in E. coli. A dual specificity kinase that plays important roles in insulin- and Wnt-mediated cellular signalings. In AD (Alzheimer’s disease), GSK3β has a major role in microtubule stability by its ability to phosphorylate the microtubule associated protein tau. Its known substrates include glycogen synthase, p90rsk, Tau, c-Jun, and CREB. MW: 53,000-56,000.

DescriptionRecombinant, human GSK-3β fused at the N-terminus to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in E. coli. Glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) is a serine/threonine kinase that was first characterized by its role in intermediary metabolism. GSK-3β is a dual-specificity kinase that is important role in insulin- and Wnt-mediated cellular signaling events. In Alzheimer's disease GSK-3β is reported to affect microtubule stability via the phosphorylation of microtubule associated protein, Tau. Other known substrates include glycogen synthase, p90rsk, c-Jun, and CREB. MW: 53,000-56,000
