      DescriptionAnti-PVR (CD155) Antibody, clone TX56
      Alternate Names
      • Poliovirus receptor
Background InformationCD155 (UniProt: Q91WP1; also known as Poliovirus receptor) is encoded by the Pvr (also known as cd155, D7Ertd458e) gene (Gene ID: 52118) in murine species. The CD155 transcript is ubiquitously expressed in most organs in both humans and mice and on various hematopoietic cells in mice, including T cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is highly expressed on double-positive thymocytes and variably expressed on mature thymocytes and T cells. It serves as a costimulatory molecule on CD4+ T cells. CD155-mediated signaling is reported to induce Th1 development in both humans and mice and increases the production of IFN-gamma. It is also involved in forming adherens junctions between adjacent epithelial or endothelial cells. CD155 is synthesized with a signal peptide (aa 1-28), which is subsequently cleaved off to generate the mature form that has three Ig-like domains. Clone Tx56 is shown to block the interaction between CD155 and its ligand DNAM-1 (CD226). (Ref.: Yamashita-Kanemaru, Y., et al. (2015). J. Immunol. 194(12); 5644-5653).
