Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the optimal working dilution.

Background
Histone H1, the nonnucleosome linker histone, becomes phosphorylated at multiple sites (3-6 sites/molecule of H1) upon entry of the cell into mitosis, most likely by Cdc2 kinase. It has been proposed that H1 phosphorylation may allow for transient chromatin decondensations, thereby allowing access of specific DNA binding factors involved in gene activation, DNA replication and chromosome condensation to the DNA.
