The subunit responsible for activation of adenylate cyclase. Binds to the ADP-ribosylation factor and modulates its activity. Catalyzes the ADP-ribosylation of the α-subunit of G-proteins, reducing intrinsic GTPase activity and activating the α-subunit.

      Product Information
ActivityThe activity of the intact toxin is greater than or equal to that of a standard cholera toxin preparation as determined in an ADP ribosylation assay. Each lot of purified A subunit is 2-3 times more active than the intact toxin as an activator of adenylate cyclase (weight basis). In an ADP-ribosylation assay, the specific enzymatic activity of a typical lot of A subunit is approximately 2.0 times that of cholera toxin on a weight basis.
