      Description
OverviewA cell-permeable sulfonyl acrylonitrile compound that acts as a potent and irreversible inhibitor of protein phosphatase methylesterase-1 (PME-1; IC50 = 600 nM and 2.5 µM in human cell lysates and in HEK 293T cells, respectively) with 100-fold greater selectivity over other serine hydrolases; does not function as a general thiol-reactive probe. Shown to lower demethylated PP2A levels by ~80% at 20 µM with elevated methylated PP2A (protein phosphatase 2A) form in PME-1 overexpressing HEK 293T cells.
