      Revision27-June-2008 RFH
      DescriptionA fluorogenic substrate for furin (kcat/Km ~2 X 104 M-1 s-1), a mammalian homolog of the yeast Kex2 endoprotease. Also serves as a substrate for related protein, prohormone convertase 2 (PC2) (kcat/Km ~6 X 103 M-1 s-1). Excitation max: ~360-380 nm; emission max: ~430-460 nm).
      FormWhite solid
      FormulationSupplied as a trifluoroacetate salt.
Recommended reaction conditions20 nM of substrate in a 250 µl final reaction volume. Buffer:100 mM MES/NaOH, 1 mM CaCl2, pH 7.0. Temperature: 37°C. Duration of incubation: 1-4 h. Reaction can be terminated by adding 3 ml of 5 mM EDTA and the amount of AMC released is measured.
