2018 Life Science Awards Program – Food & Beverage Safety

Be recognized for your innovative research in Food and Beverage Safety with the Life Science Award
October 22-23, 2018 Darmstadt, Germany
The 2018 Life Science Award in Food and Beverage Safety will be presented to a graduate student from a U.S., Canadian, Asian Pacific* or European university (excluding Italy) that has successfully demonstrated contributions in research, education or information transfer while displaying innovative and effective strategies to promote safety in the food and beverage arena.
Graduate students who have completed or are expected to complete their program between 2017 and 2019 are invited to apply. Finalists will be invited to present their research to company leadership in October 2018. The winner of the award will receive $10,000 and each of the finalists who present their work at the event will be awarded $2,000.
Application deadline: August 31, 2018.
*The list of countries eligible for the award program in 2018 from APAC are: Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan.
How to Apply
Applicants should send the following documents to FBsafetyaward@emdmillipore.com by no later than August 31, 2018:
- A curriculum vitae (CV) summarizing education, graduation date, work experience, all publications and external presentations, relevant skills and interests, and leadership activities.
- An application statement (800 words or less, plus graphs/figures) summarizing the context, relevance and impact of the research, key accomplishments, interest in the life science sector, and future plans.
- A 300-word or less abstract for the presentation that will be given if chosen as an award finalist.
- A recommendation letter (1-3 pages) from your advisor discussing what makes you stand out and why you should be considered for this award.
Finalists will be announced in September 2018
