The Natrix® Q membrane is a porous polyacrylamide hydrogel containing a high density of pendant quaternary ammonium (Q) binding groups physically reinforced by an inert fiber web. The interconnected pore structure (nominal pore size 0.4 μm) provides a large surface area for protein binding and high permeability. This unique combination of high density Q hydrogel chemistry, high definition protein separation and porosity produces a membrane with a very high binding capacity across a wide range of flow rates.
High functional binding group density
Membranes featuring a hydrogel that is comprised of functional monomer. As a result, membranes are uniformly and densely saturated with binding sites. |
Functional groups are readily accessible
Feed stream passes through interconnected pores (nominal pore size 0.4 μm) where every contact surface is loaded with functional binding groups. The advective mass transfer in the pore network enables high binding performance at much higher flow rates than diffusion based resins. |
Multi-point molecular binding
The close proximity of binding sites allows for multi-point ionic bonding so that protein molecules can be bound by multiple charge points simultaneously. This results in a more robust binding even under difficult operating conditions with respect to pH, salt and buffer ions. |
Single Use
Products are compact and single use, eliminating validation, cleaning, sanitization, and storage, enabling flexible downstream processing. |
