      Background InformationLeukotriene B4 receptor 1 (UniProt: O88855; also known as LTB4-R 1, LTB4-R1, BLT1) is encoded by the Ltb4r (also known as Bltr, Ltb4r1) gene (Gene ID: 16995) in murine species. LTB4-R1 is a multi-pass membrane protein of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family that contains 4 extracellular domains, 7 transmembrane domains, and 4 cytoplasmic domains. It is a high -affinity (Kd = 0.1 to 0.2 nM) receptor of leukotriene B4 that is highly expressed on activated leukocytes and differentiated T cells and it is responsible for LTB4-dependent leukocyte migration. It serves a s receptor for leukotriene B4 (LTB4) and initiates a cascade of inflammatory responses that includes recruitment of leukocytes, phagocytosis, and production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. It is shown to specifically recognizes the carbon backbone and the hydroxyl groups of LTB4. Upon LTB4 binding it undergoes phosphorylation by GRK6, which promotes its desensitization. Clone 7A8 does not cross-react with human BLT1 or other G protein-coupled receptors, including human chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 4. It is shown to bind to the second extracellular loop of mBLT1 and does not affect LTB4 binding or intracellular calcium mobilization by LTB4. (Ref.: Sasaki, F., et al. (2017).
