      Description
OverviewA cell-permeable and orally available nitrofuran-based antidiarrheal agent that effectively suppresses the activation of cellular STAT1/3/5 transcription activity (IC50 = 3 µM against IL-6-induced STAT3 activation in U3A cells), while exhibiting little effect against TNF-α-induced NF-κB activation in 293 cells. Shown to inhibit cellular tyrosine phosphorylations of JAK2/TYK2/STAT3 (IC50 = 10 µM against tyr705 of STAT3 in U266 cells), but not those of Akt/EGFR/JAK1/MAPK/Src or the ser727 phosphorylation of STAT3.
