      Description
OverviewRecombinant, rat FPTase expressed in E. coli. A heterodimeric enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of a 15-carbon isoprenoid group to a variety of cellular proteins including Ras. Recognizes the C-terminal CAAX cysteine motif where the farnesylated cysteine is followed by two aliphatic amino acids and either leucine or serine.

DescriptionRecombinant, rat FPTase expressed in E. coli. A heterodimeric enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of a 15-carbon isoprenoid group to a C-terminal cysteine in a variety of cellular proteins, including Ras. Recognizes the CaaX motif where the farnesylated cysteine (C) is followed by two aliphatic amino acids (aa) and either leucine or serine (X). Expressed in E. coli as an untagged recombinant protein.
